The Kiev District Court of Simferopol extended until June 14 the detention period for Andrei Kolomiyets, accused of attempted murder of two Berkut fighters on the Maidan and possession of narcotic drugs. This is reported by the publication "Crimea. Realii” with reference to human rights defenders in court.
Despite the fact that lawyer Mikhail Kushpel, representing Kolomiyets, is ill and notified the court the day before the hearing, Judge Mikhail Belousov announced that the lawyer did not provide “convincing documents” and ordered that the defendant be provided with a public defender.
Earlier it was reported that Kolomiets is under pressure in the pre-trial detention center: two cellmates (supporters of the DPR and LPR) provoke him into quarrels, insult and humiliate him, and also threaten him with physical violence.
