The Russian Prosecutor General's Office will check the story of the Rossiya-1 TV channel about the work of opposition leader Alexei Navalny for foreign intelligence, Interfax reports with reference to a representative of the Prosecutor General's Office.

“The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office will study the materials of the film “The Browder Effect” ( a story about Navalny’s work. - Ed. ), broadcast on the Rossiya 1 TV channel last Wednesday ( April 10, 2016 - Ed. ),” explained the Prosecutor General's Office. They also noted that the plot of the film “contained information about possible violations of federal legislation by a number of Russian citizens and foreign nationals.”

First Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Buksman demanded from Russia-1 a copy of the film and video materials of the discussion that took place following the screening. “Based on the results of their study, the issue of the need to organize supervisory measures will be considered,” summarized the Prosecutor General’s Office.
