Sberbank is going to launch its own virtual telecom operator (MVNO) in the fall of 2016. The RBC agency reports this.

According to the publication, Sberbank has already discussed the possibility of cooperation in this direction with the operators Tele2 and MTS. Tele2 confirmed the fact of negotiations, but refused to disclose details. MTS, Megafon and VimpelCom chose not to comment on communications with the bank.

According to one of the agency's sources, the new virtual telecom operator will be called Sberbank-Telecom. Another clarifies that this is only a working title, and its final version will lose references to the brand of Sberbank itself. At the same time, the operator will still not be focused on all Russians, but specifically on bank clients. They will be offered special rates that are not tied to the options of the partner operator. It is assumed that the project can be immediately connected to the “Thank You” bonus program.
