Vladimir Putin will move away from power no earlier than 2022-2024. According to the correspondent of the Grani, this was stated by the leader of Open Russia by Mikhail Khodorkovsky at a joint press conference with emigrant businessman Evgeny Chichvarkin, dedicated to their plans to ensure the construction of a democratic state after Putin's resignation. In the meantime, I noticed Khodorkovsky, the only thing that is planned to be done is to enlighten society and provide young political leaders with the opportunity to declare themselves and gain experience. It is for this that “Open Russia” nominates candidates for the Duma elections of this year, the former oligarch explained. At the same time, he called the elections "underjecting."

This position, continued Khodorkovsky, determines the competition of candidates of Open Russia and Parnassus in some districts. There is no real rivalry between one and others, according to the leader of “Open Russia”, since competition for a place in “not a place for discussions” cannot be seriously conducted.

Chichvarkin actually confirmed Khodorkovsky’s statement about education as the only planned direction of work. When the correspondent of the "faces" asked the direct question whether Khodorkovsky and Chichvarkin intend to take any steps to remove Putin from power or will wait until someone "leaves", both participants in the press conference evaded a direct response.

Khodorkovsky also stated that he would return to Russia only when there would be a situation in which the Kremlin would not dare to send it out of fear of political consequences.

The former oligarch also repeated his old thesis that before building a democratic system in the post -Putin Russia , a two -year transition period would be required.

Other statements by Khodorkovsky are also not new. So, in December 2015, he stated that the regime in Russia will be replaced by five to eight years . At the same time, he noted earlier that he did not believe in the possibility of changing power in the country through elections, but later called the revolution in Russia inevitable and necessary.
