The governor of the Novosibirsk region, Vladimir Gorodetsky, said that the police would take tough measures against the participants of the May Day Monstration if they tried to organize an uncoordinated procession.
Gorodetsky promised to "resist the desecration of the feelings of believers on a holy day" - Orthodox Easter will be celebrated on May 1. “I think it’s not quite right, with the Hell posters,” Gorodetsky said. In 2014, "Monstration" was held under the main slogan "Hell is ours!"
The organizers of the "Monstration" tried to agree with the Novosibirsk authorities on the route of the march through the city center, but were refused. They were offered to join a youth action called "Veseshestvo", which is going to arrange the mayor's office.
“Not agreed - you have no right. Agreed - here's your guarantee. This requirement was, is and will be. It will be even tougher, but only within the framework of the law,” Gorodetsky said.
