A resident of the Pskov region was sentenced to 22 years in a maximum security colony for raping children and robbing a pensioner.

In the Pskov region, a 31-year-old local resident was sentenced to 22 years in a maximum security colony in a case of sexual abuse of children.

According to the Investigative Committee, the court banned the accused from engaging in activities related to working with children for 17 years.

The man was found guilty of violent acts of a sexual nature (Part 5 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code), attempted similar crime (Part 3 of Article 30 and paragraph “b”, Part 4 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code), violation of the inviolability of the home (Part 2 of Article 139 of the Criminal Code), rape ( paragraph “b” of Part 4 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code), robbery (Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code) and theft (Part 1 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code).

According to investigators, on April 1, 2015, a man raped a nine-year-old girl in the entrance of her house. The accused also stole the girl's wallet containing money and her mother's bank cards.

Two similar episodes occurred in March 2012 and November 2014. According to investigators, the man raped two girls, ages eight and 12. In the first case, the suspect attacked the girl in her apartment, where she had let the man in at his request.

In addition, a resident of the Pskov region was accused of attacking an elderly woman with disabilities at the entrance. The man stole her purse with money and documents.

Previously, the man was convicted of indecent assault on a minor.
