Searches came to the home of FBK lawyer Ivan Zhdanov and his mother

The house of Anti-Corruption Foundation lawyer Ivan Zhdanov is being searched, foundation founder Alexei Navalny reports on Twitter.

A search is also being carried out at his mother's home.

As Zhdanov told Mediazona, investigative actions are taking place within the framework of a criminal case of draft evasion. The FBK lawyer clarified that searches began after his interrogation at three addresses: at him and his relatives. Zhdanov noted that seven investigators from the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee were present at the interrogation.

on Twitter FBK director Roman Rubanov said that the third address being searched is the lawyer’s apartment in Barvikha.

Navalny believes that the searches are related to Zhdanov’s participation as a candidate in municipal elections in Barvikha, Moscow Region.

FBK candidates previously complained of voter fraud in the early elections in Barvikha. Today, the Central Election Commission ordered the territorial election commission of the Odintsovo district to cancel the decision to hold elections in Barvikha.

The case against FBK lawyer Ivan Zhdanov was opened last week. He is suspected of draft evasion (Part 1 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code). “The case was opened in one day of investigation, and the whole main investigative department will conduct it. Despite the fact that at conscription age I was a student and graduate student, the military registration and enlistment office did not bother me,” Zhdanov commented on the emergence of the case.
