The “Independent Oil and Gas Company” (NNK), founded by the former President of Rosneft, Eduard Khudainatov, is interested in acquiring a package of Bashneft shares. It is reported by Interfax with reference to unnamed sources.
According to the agency, Khudainatov wrote the corresponding letter to the Government of the Russian Federation. In addition, the head of the NNC proposed to include a requirement for the supply, processing and sale of oil in the Far East in the privatization conditions of Bashneft.
As Khudainatov explained, such a step will strengthen the interest of the Far Eastern enterprises to participate in the privatization of Bashneft. He noted that the NNA itself can realize the mentioned requirement, since it belongs to the Khabarovsk refinery and a network of gas stations in the Far Eastern region.
Interfax interlocutor noted that now there are at least four applicants for Bashneft, including oil companies and bankers. Earlier, Lukoila President Vagit Alekperov stated the interest in Bashneft, also the owners of the Gorbushkin Courtyard and Yuri Khotina were called potential buyers in the media (Alexei Khotin through the Swiss Radamant Financial is the main beneficiary of the Ugra bank).
In turn, the head of Bashneft, Alexander Korsik, earlier on April 20, said that he sees only Lukoil as a “real strategic investor”. Korsik added that he fears the attempts of some private investors “buy“ Bashneft ”for the money“ Bashneft ”.”
On April 19, the First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexei Texler said that Bashneft is planned to privatize before the end of this year. Prior to this, the Ministry of Economic Development chose VTB Capital as the organizer of the sale of shares of an oil company. The Russian government is ready to sell its entire package as part of privatization - 50.08% of the shares.
