In early April, users of the Dvach imageboard began using the FindFace service - a neural network search for VKontakte users by photo - to de-anonymize porn actresses. The service itself denies this practice and states that they cannot prohibit it in any way.

The thread , in which dvachers initiated a search for Russian girls from the erotic and porn industry, is dated April 9. Apparently, the idea of using the service in this way was influenced by the popularity of photographer Egor Tsvetkov’s project, which demonstrated how easy it is to de-anonymize passengers in the subway using FindFace.
Dvach users called for analyzing frames from porn videos and erotic photo shoots using FindFace to expose the girls’ identities. If an account on VKontakte can be identified in this way, it was proposed to send links to intimate videos and photos to relatives and friends of porn actresses.
The motivation of the organizers of the harassment is as follows: these girls are corrupt and deceptive, they do not pay attention to men like Dvach users, and when exposed, they begin to “spin like sardines in a frying pan, cackling about Photoshop and ill-wishers.” In some of the collages collected by dvachers, girls published photographs with their family during intimate filming.
It is unknown how many girls were exposed in this way: on Dvach old discussion threads are deleted and not all are saved. Some of the “achievements” of the organizers of the bullying were published in third-party communities on VKontakte, but at least one of them was blocked by the administration of the social network following a complaint from another anti-sexist community.

Many of the exposed girls deleted their pages on VKontakte. One of the girls replied that it was not her in the picture, but her acquaintance, in response to questions, began to threaten to beat her.

Representatives of FindFace told TJ that recently their support service began to receive complaints about such use of the service, and the number of victims is in the dozens. At the same time, they cannot technically prohibit the use of photo search in this way, but they note that the illegal production and distribution of porn in Russia is provided for in Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
If anyone bothers to search for users who are harassing, FindFace promised to provide their data.
We make every effort to protect all network users from possible actions of attackers and are ready, if necessary, to provide all the information to search for such users.
