The arrest of Chiygoz was extended until May 5

The judge of the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol, who was controlled by Russia, Olga Gurina extended the deputy chairman of the Medzhlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz, the main person involved in the “February 26 case”, the term of detention in the pre -trial detention center until May 5. This was announced on his Facebook page by the lawyer of Politsek Nikolai Polozov.

The investigator for especially important cases of the Crimean headquarters of the TFR Pavel Nickel insisted on extending Chiygoz arrest until May 22. Meanwhile, the investigation in the case ends on the 5th, and the content in the pre-trial detention center at the end of the investigation is unacceptable. The defense of the Politzke indicated this circumstance.

Meanwhile, Nickel substantiated his petition by preparing a decision to extend the investigation and sent it to approval to Moscow, but he did not receive an answer at the time of the meeting.

As the prosecutor S. Korneev reacted to the petition of the investigator, the lawyer did not specify.

Thus, Polozov noted, "the main intrigue was whether the judge will go on the occasion of the investigation and extend the term of detention of the investigation or try to maintain at least the appearance of the rule of law." “Judge Gurina chose the second option,” he added.

Whether the arrests were extended on Thursday by two other defendants in the pre -trial detention center - Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermendi - the lawyer of Chiygoz did not report.

On Wednesday, Polozov placed a statement about a crime sent by Chiygoz in Facebook by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Alexander Bastrykin on Facebook. The political prisoner demanded to initiate a case against the judge of the Russian Supreme Court of Crimea Galina Redko, who on March 2 extended his arrest with a gross violation of the procedure - without an open court hearing. In the actions of Redko, Chiygoz noted, there are compositions of articles 293 (negligence) and 301 Russian Criminal Code (illegal detention).

“The head of the TFR and his subordinates will really undertake to investigate the illegal activity of Judge Redko G.V. among the searches of external/internal enemies and the factory of political affairs,” Polozov commented on the statement of his principal. “At the same time, this message about the crime is one of the steps that we take and are going to take.”

On April 15, Chiygoz was repeatedly charged under part 1 of Article 212 of the Russian Criminal Code (organization of mass riots), which provides from 8 to 15 years in the colony. The same composition was incriminated to Politzeku earlier, before the return of the "case on February 26" to the prosecutor's office. On the return of the case when he was considered by the Supreme Court of Crimea, Chiygoz himself insisted, saying that the formulations of the accusations against him were blurry, which contradicts the Russian Code of Criminal Procedure.

The “case on February 26” was initiated by the clashes that occurred on February 26, 2014 by the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea between participants in two rallies organized respectively by supporters and opponents of Euromaidan. According to the prosecutor's office of the annexed peninsula, during these clashes, "two people died, 79 bodily harm of varying severity were caused."

All the defendants in the case are Crimean Tatars, participants in the rally in support of the Euromaidan. All the involved in the case, except for Chiygoz, were charged with part 2 of Article 212 (participation in the riots), the sanction of which is from 3 to 8 years of the colony. In total, six defendants in the case - along with Chiygoz, Asanov and Deggermmenji, is Escender Kantemirov, Eskender Emirviliev and Arsen Yunusov. The last three are free, although Kantemirov and Emirviliev in 2015 also spent several months in jail. Whether the Yunusov was kept under arrest is unknown.

Earlier, in a special order, two more defendants in the case were convicted - Escender Nebiev and Yunusov melted. Both received conditional terms.
