More than 200 people gathered on Wednesday evening in the Moscow Library. Dante Aligieri discuss further actions after the cancellation of the order on its eviction and transfer of the premises of the TFR. The speakers called on workers and readers of the library to organize and believe in their strengths.
The order of eviction was issued on April 14 by the head of the Central Library System of the South-Western District of Moscow Vadim Talanov. A two -week period was assigned to move the institution - until May 1.
The eviction of the library, its employees noted, threatens the loss of valuable funds. There are many rare books in foreign languages.
The news of the decision of Talanov caused a negative reaction in society. At the weekend near the SKR building, single pickets were held against the decision made.
Meanwhile, on Monday, the head of the capital's Department of Culture, Alexander Kibovsky, said that on April 15, Talanov had forced Talanov to cancel the eviction order , and also declared reprimand to the official. Kibovsky, however, explained his actions by the procedural violations that Talanov made: the order was not agreed with the city authorities.
The building, part of which is occupied by the library, "gradually ... consolidated to accommodate the Investigative Committee," noted the head of the department. Thus, the library named after Dante still threatens eviction.
The library itself confirms that officials continue to look for a new room for her.
