1996. The murder of Johar Dudaev

20 years ago, on April 21, 1996, General Johar Dudaev, the first president of the self -proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, was killed. Russian intelligence agencies sang a signal from Dudaev’s satellite phone in the area of ​​the village of Gahi, 30 km from Grozny. Two Su-25 attack aircraft with mobile phone signal were raised into the air with missiles. Equipment for guidance was purchased in Germany. Dudaev was killed by the blow of the rocket right during a conversation on the phone with State Duma deputy Konstantin Borov when they discussed a possible start of negotiations with the federal center.
