Residents of Bristol protest against plans to turn a porn studio into a house for migrants

Residents of one of the districts of Bristol opposed the eviction of a neighboring porn studio from a building, the owner of which now wants to rent premises for living rooms. According to The Mirror , the Bristol residents say that they have nothing against the pornstars, but the prospect of getting them to the neighbors of migrant workers does not please them at all.

Until recently, a two-story factory building on Ebenezer Street was rented by Phil Barry, the husband of a 48-year-old pornstar Katie Barry. But the owner of the building Mike Hobbins decided to convert him to a apartment building with 20 double rooms, which, according to him, would help to resolve the housing crisis in the city.

However, the neighbors believe that this project will “finish the district”, since the apartment building will first attract labor migrants from abroad.

According to The Mirror, more than 35 people joined the protest, which has already resulted in small street rallies. Some threatened that if Hobbins does not change their plans, they will sell their homes and thereby hit prices in the area.

“The porn studio was not a problem. If there were any questions, we discussed them with the owners and everything was settled,” says Naomi Maggs, a 38-year-old mother of two children who lives directly opposite the building. But the prospect that 40 foreign strangers will settle there, who will also change every six months, it really scares it.

Residents of the district collect signatures against the organization in their area of ​​the Apart-Hotel labor area. Bristol municipal council should consider their petition in May.
