The investigation asked to replace the measure of restraint with house arrest for two former leaders of Domodedovo, who are defendants in the case of a terrorist attack at the airport.
A petition to change the preventive measure against Vyacheslav Nekrasov and Andrey Danilov was submitted to the Basmanny Court. At the same time, the investigation asks to extend the measure of restraint for the defendants until July 28.
According to court spokeswoman Yunona Tsareva, the issue of a preventive measure will be considered by the court on April 26.
- Former director of Domodedovo Airport Vyacheslav Nekrasov and former managing director of Domodedovo Airport Aviation Security Andrey Danilov, who was in charge of aviation security at the airport, were arrested on February 9, 2016.
- Nekrasov and Danilov are accused of failing to provide a 100% screening of airport visitors, which in January 2011 allowed suicide bomber Magomed Evloev to enter the airport complex. They were charged under article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence”).
- Also defendants in the case of a terrorist attack at the airport are the former head of the Russian representative office of Airport Management Company Limited Svetlana Trishina (the company manages the airport) and the owner of Domodedovo Dmitry Kamenshchik. Trishina and Kamenshchik are placed under house arrest.
- Masonshchik's defense tried to challenge his house arrest, but the Moscow City Court on April 22 rejected the appeal.
- All defendants in the case of the terrorist attack in Domodedovo deny their guilt.
