"Snob" renamed to Dirty

In mid-April, members of the collective Dirty community demanded the snob.ru domain from the Snob magazine, citing the fact that they were "big snobs ." The Dirty domain transfer deadline was April 24th.

As it turned out, the editors of Snob decided not to ignore the demand. However, instead of giving the domain to the community, "Snob" simply renamed itself Dirty (thus partially fulfilling the requirement).

The “snobby” Dirty logo turned out to be stylized as the familiar “Snob” logo, but Ksenia Chudinova, project director for external relations, wrote that four options were considered, including this:

A new subtitle appeared on the site: "GALAXY DANGER!!!111". In response to a remark by journalist Alexei Kovalev that it would be more correct to write "galakteko" ( actually "golacteko." - approx. Meduza), Yegor Mostovshchikov, deputy editor-in-chief of Snob, replied that "a little snobbery will never be superfluous" .

From the remark of Ksenia Chudinova “Thank you, Dirty! We had a lot of fun,” one can conclude that the renaming is a one-time action (and that the editors of “Snob” really do not want to look like snobs). At Dirty, however, the rebrand was seen as a win:

Whether Dirty is going to take any measures to seize the domain in the event of the return of "Snob" to the traditional name is unknown.

Update. April 25 "Snob" returned to its former name.
