On April 24, the General Prosecutor of OGAIO Mike Deowine and the sheriff of the district Pike Charles Reader convened a press conference to tell reporters about the progress of the investigation. The event lasted only 22 minutes, and the representatives of the authorities left most of the questions unanswered.

During the press conference, it was confirmed that the dead were family members of Roden aged 16 to 44 years. The murders were planned in advance, and the victims were no coincidence. Family members were killed in four houses where they lived. Most were sleeping at the time of the attack. According to the prosecutor, almost everyone was killed by a shot in the head.
The killers left live young children - including a newborn baby. The mother who had fallen next to him was shot.

The first call to the 911 service entered on Friday morning from a girl who stated that the whole house was in blood, two of her relatives were killed, and "it seems that they were beaten to death."

At the same time, representatives of the authorities refused to connect the massacre with the drug business. When asked whether the incident can be considered “problems due to drugs”, prosecutor Mark Deanin said: “We have the whole state of problems due to drugs.”
By the evening of Sunday, the police failed to conduct a single detention in the murder case. Most likely, the criminals “took special measures to avoid detection and arrest,” said Dean. The authorities expect the investigation to delay.
According to The Chillicothe Gazette, the massacre in Ohio is already the 79th crime of this kind since the beginning of 2013.
