In St. Petersburg they decided not to make Kadyrov Street

The toponymic commission of St. Petersburg has decided not to name city objects after the first president of Chechnya, Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov, writes St. Petersburg.Ru.

Earlier, the administration of St. Petersburg received a proposal to Smolny to assign the name of Kadyrov Sr. to a street or square in the city. This idea was supported by the chairman of the Chechen Youth Union Rustam Tapaev. The committee meeting was held behind closed doors.

As vice-governor Vladimir Kirillov told Fontanka, so far not a single St. Petersburg facility will receive the name of Kadyrov, since not all documents have been collected for this. In particular, there are no opinions of the council of veterans and the Chechen community.

In 2014, Vitaly Milonov, a deputy of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, raised the issue of naming one of the streets in the city after Kadyrov.
