An explosive device worked in a regular bus in Yerevan: two dead

As a result of the explosion in a passenger bus in Yerevan, two people were killed and seven more were injured. As TASS reports , referring to the Ministry of Emergencies of Armenia, the explosion occurred on the evening of April 25 on Alabyan Street in Bogdan, which was traveling along the bus.

According to the head of the country's police, Vladimir Gasparyan, the cause of the explosion was the explosive device. “At this moment, it is clear that it was not an explosion of gas or diesel fuel,” said Gasparyan. “It was an explosion of a high -explosive type, the explosion was not a fragmentation, but entailing an explosive wave.”

“At this moment, it is not the time to confirm or refute the version of the attack,” he said, adding that the explosion occurred inside the bus, and in the process of its movement. According to the head of the department, "an object exploded in the hands of one of the passengers, or under his seat."

Armenian President Serge Sargsyan instructed the republic’s police to strengthen the patrol service. The Ministry of Health takes the necessary measures to assist the victims.

In the area of ​​the incident there is a popular center of creative technologies "Tumo", where children study computer design. Two victims - adolescents of 14 and 15 years old - got on the bus just after classes in this educational institution. “He has been done by surgical operations, their life does not threaten their lives,” said Armen Muradyan, Minister of Health of the Republic.

In addition, two victims are in extremely serious condition. According to the minister, a pregnant woman was also on the bus, however, as a medical examination showed, there is no danger to her life.
