President of Bolivia passed a test for the establishment of paternity

The President of Bolivia Evo Morales passed the DNA test to establish the paternity of the child of his former civil wife Gabriela Sapata. On April 25, the head of state arrived at the judicial research institute and remained there for half an hour, after which he left the building, the ABI Bolivian agency reports.

According to him, later the former civilian wife of Morales Gabriela Sapata arrived there. However, she refused to pass the test. According to her lawyer Eduardo Leon, his client demanded that the procedure be carried out in the presence of the president and his alleged son.

According to La Razon , the former civilian wife of the president was delivered to the Judicial Research Institute at the police van from the prison of Miraflores. She has been in custody since February this year in connection with accusations of corruption.

The arrest of Sapata was produced after local media reported that the president’s former friend was working in the Chinese company CAMC, which won a government contract in the amount of $ 560 million. The opposition accused Morales of contributing to the success of a former civilian wife, BBC reports.

Morales himself denies this. He admitted that he was in close relations with Sapata in 2005, when she was 18 years old, and that in 2007 they had a child who died. After that, according to the 56-year-old Morales, the couple broke up.

He is still not married. The functions of the first lady are performed by his sister. According to some observers, the scandal that was overwhelmed around the relationship between Morales and Sapata contributed to the defeat of the president at the referendum in February to reform the Bolivian Constitution, which considered the possibility of introducing amendments to the main law, which would allow Morales to re -recover and take part in the election of the head of state in 2019.
