AliExpress agreed to accept Mir cards

The online platform AliExpress has signed an interaction agreement with the national payment cards system (NSPK). The representative of the company told Vedomosti about this.

It is reported that by the fall, Russians will be able to use the Mir card to pay for purchases.

“We expect that by the time the project is implemented, not only various promotions, but also special conditions for the loyalty program of the payment system will be available to holders of Mir cards,” said the representative of the NSPK.

The issue of Mir cards began on December 15, 2015. The NSPK was created in 2014, when Visa and MasterCard payment systems stopped serving cards issued by Russian banks that fell under US sanctions.

Earlier, the Russian Academy of Sciences, Aeroflot, MegaFon, Tele2 said about cooperation with the NSPK. At the moment, 59 banks have joined the MIR payment system, of which only 12 banks provide acquiring, and seven have begun emission. Vedomosti wrote that the installation of the cryptographic module certified in the FSB certified in the FSB will cost banks hundreds of millions of dollars.
