Lawyer: Savchenko’s extraction procedure has begun

The procedure of extradition to Ukraine of the pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, who was sentenced in Russia to the 22 years in the case of the murder of Russian television journalists in the Donbass, has begun. On Wednesday, April 27, said the lawyer of the convicted Mark Feigin.

“Savchenko’s statement about her consent to issue a sentence to Ukraine, I received on April 7 and then handed over to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, who made a request to the Ministry of Justice of Russia in accordance with the Convention on the issuance of convicts of 1983,” Feigin said in an interview with the RBC agency.

The lawyer recalled that the court must make the decision to extradite Savchenko to Ukraine, but the court date is still unknown, and a certain procedural decision may be required in order to determine which the court should decide on Savchenko.

Meanwhile, the sister of Nadezhda Savchenko Vera said that the convicted Ukrainian pilot had already received documents from the head of the pre -trial detention center in Novocherkassk for extraction. “She is now filling out the documents: an application, biographical data, etc. As the head of the prison of Kalganov said, they are necessary for extradition. She was told that these documents according to the procedure must be filled out for extradition. Let's hope this is so, ”said Vera Savchenko.
