State Duma proposed to limit the sale of electronic cigarettes

Representatives of the Federation Council Valery Ryazansky and Igor Chernyshev submitted to the State Duma a bill on restriction of sales of electronic cigarettes. The text of the law is posted on the website of the lower house of parliament. Both nicotin -containing and nonicotine products fall under restrictions.

The need for law was explained by the sharp increase in the popularity of electronic cigarettes. Legislators are afraid that their consumers will sit on real cigarettes.

"The development of the project is due to the growth of the popularity of the use of Socialist Revolutionary. In order to form a single approach, the concepts of" electronic nicotine delivery system "and" Use of electronic nicoten delivery systems "are introduced into the category of ESDN, the bill determines the basic restrictions on the use of ESDNs in public places, the general rules for labeling," the explanatory note says.

They want to ban cigarettes in places where smoking of ordinary tobacco is prohibited, that is, in hospitals, schools, sports facilities, public transport, at workplaces and so on. For violation of the ban, a fine of up to three thousand rubles is provided.

It is also proposed to prohibit their sale by minors. In case of a violation by the seller, this restriction will be charged with a fine of up to 150 thousand rubles.

In addition, it is proposed to limit the advertising of electronic cigarettes. There should be no indications on their packaging that this is a drug, or allegations that their use allows you to refuse tobacco consumption, Interfax notes.
