The hockey community is excited-if you slightly paraphrase the lines of a well-known poem, they are looking for everywhere and cannot find a guy of some about thirty years. Of course, Alexander Radulov is not “some kind”. In the location of the Russian national team on the eve of the home World Cup, a two -time world champion, the face of the continental hockey league, the best player of the current regular season, the most noticeable forward of the currently playing in Russia, did not appear.
The range of comments and opinions is wide: from "Drive this in the neck!" to "understand and forgive."
I think that Alexander Valerievich Radulov does not need forgiveness and he expressed his position clearly quite clearly: in silence.
An increase in the number of muddy stories indicates the onset of troubled times. There is no doubt that there is no doubt that the Radulov story is precisely - there is no clarity, there is only the interpretations of what happened and conjectures that are by no means approaching the truth.
Radulova, on behalf of the Russian hockey federation, has already nailed to the shameful pillar of the FCH Vice-President Arkady Rotenberg, who regarded the hockey player’s failure to appear at the training camp “exclusively as a reluctance to play for the Russian national team”. Formally, the new gray cardinal of Russian hockey is right, but Alexander Radulov is not so insane as to similarly challenge to shining amateurs and at least receive an accusation of the absence of patriotism.
The leader of CSKA is a specific person, his carvings are torn off with an enviable frequency for a variety of occasions, and to the fact that wisdom is not added to him, everyone has long been accustomed. As everyone has long been convinced that the calm and not curly Radulov loses half of his truly outstanding, maybe even outstanding qualities. The real Radulov is a groovy and breeding partners, impulsive and provocative, evil and frantic. This is not an image, this is the essence. And few can argue with the fact that without him CSKA would not have approached Gagarin's Cup at a distance of one step.
Hence his advantages and its disadvantages. The second half of the final series of the Gagarin Cup with the Magnitogorsk Metallurg, the leader of the army team played without the usual brilliance and did not decrease his guilt in CSKA's defeat. Perhaps thoughts about returning to the overseas hockey league prevented, perhaps there were some other reasons. Nevertheless, no doubt that Alexander Radulov needed the Russian national team. The forward is a sign, never refusing to speak for the main team of the country, who has done a lot for it.
However, recently the situation has not been familiarly blessed: the last two championships of the world Radulov missed, a year ago - along with the caused partners in CSKA, and for no apparent reason. At the level of rumors in the army, overfing the forbidden funds led - and now the "doping version" of the mysterious disappearance of the leading striker is not excluded.
But the point, I think, is still not this. Radulov, probably, had the last chance to return to the NHL, from where he had already left and where he returned unsuccessfully. Obviously, for the sake of implementing the desired, he was ready to sacrifice many, including the loss of the first -person’s image of the KHL. The fact that Alexander Valerievich preferred negotiations in New York, without warning the coaching headquarters, is an act of at least incorrect, but leaving questions.
Radulov is far from an angel: overestimated self -esteem, not least caused by excessive outside praise, could play a role. But it was precisely those who made his image, and were almost the first in the ranks of the prosecutors. It is significant that, more recently, albeit in other circumstances, they overthrew another iconic face of the so -called new “red car” from the pedestal, and the “case of Ilya Kovalchuk” probably could not pass by Radulov. There is no question of the correctness and ability to agree with the least losses, without taking dirt to the public. All parties in this case are good.
Will the Russian team lose the upcoming world championship as a whole if an attempt to understand the situation and “seriously talk” with Radulov will fail? In my opinion, yes - of course, will lose. We are not the Czech team, which in Cologne-2010 to win the title of world champions was not prevented by the refusal of 25 (!) Leading masters. We are without stars - nowhere, and now the headquarters of the Russian national team is only waiting for who will be free from those who still lead the battles for the Stanley Cup. Moreover, they invite everyone indiscriminately, and obviously not under the concept, but "to the heap."
... The head of the FCR Vladislav Tretyak, commenting on the story with Radulov, said that "we must investigate what happened." The Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko expressed the hope that "everything will return to its place."
For everything about everything at the headquarters of the national team and its head coach Oleg Znark-a day or two, no more. One way or another, after there are so many firewood, no one will come out without loss - neither the forward who put himself in the position of disgraced, nor hockey bosses, nor the team, which in less than a week to take the start at the World Cup. Obviously, the last home tournament for the current age leaders of domestic hockey - and for Alexander Radulov as well.
