In Moscow, preliminary hearings were held on the criminal case of Pyotr Pavlensky, initiated after the “Threat” action with the arson of the door of the FSB building. The artist's arrest was extended until October 20, as requested by the prosecutor. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the lawyer Olga Dinze.
According to the law, the preliminary hearing is held behind closed doors. The artist's lawyers said they would insist on returning the case to the prosecutor's office.
upd. The appeal by the defense of the extension of the arrest was postponed to April 29, 09:15
In November 2015, Pavlensky held a performance called "The Threat": he set fire to the door to the FSB building on Lubyanka, after which he surrendered to the police without resistance. Later, the investigation qualified his actions as vandalism, and the court placed him under arrest.
Pavlensky himself insisted that the case be reclassified as an article on terrorism as a sign of support for Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko, convicted of setting fire to the doors of a public organization in Crimea.
