Director Alexei Stepanyuk, responsible for the stage design, Ivan Tolstov and the artist Andrei Ponizovsky, are working on the production .
Created in 1968 based on the story of Dostoevsky, the opera was fame abroad, but in those years it was never delivered in Russia.
In 1973, the Audio recording of the operas carried out a large symphony orchestra of the All -Union Radio under the direction of Gennady Rozhdestvensky and the soloists Galina Pisarenko and Anatoly Mishchevsky. In 2011, the White Nights for the first time in Russia were staged on the stage of the State Music Theater "Saint-Petersburg Opera".
The plot of the “sentimental” opera Yuri Butsko (1938–2015) is based on the romantic story of two heroes - Nastya and a dreamer in love with her, in whose memoirs the image of Dostoevsky himself is hidden.
“I hope that in a city where white nights in a strange way affect the psyche of its inhabitants, where during this period everything is, as it were, it is bifurcated and acquires irreal outlines, meaning and mood of the work will gain a special piercing,” the composer wrote.
Opera White Nights - the final performance of the Six Little Deers for Adults, in which the Orange Dmitry Shostakovich, the “Stange Warecence”, “Maddalen’s station” Sergei Prokofiev, “The Female of the Stranger” Antonio Spada -keta, “Anna” Leonid Klinichev, were already presented.
