Truckers created alternative unions organization

According to the organizers, about 300 drivers from 31 regions took part in the congress. Representatives of at least 43 regions of Russia were included in the CPR. The congress participants accepted the charter of the public association and chose its chairman. It was the St. Petersburg trucker Andrei Bazhutin. He was the leader of the protest camp in Khimki and one of the coordinators of movement against the Plato system.

Existing professional associations of drivers did not solve the real problems of truckers, Bazhutin explained the need to create his own public organization. In addition, there are many self -employed among truckers and the union form is not suitable for them.

The main goals of the ODR will be to ensure the development of entrepreneurship in the field of automobile cargo transportation, the creation of favorable conditions for the activities of its members, protect their rights, as well as representing the common interests of members of the organization. OPR will be guided by the principles of independence from political parties, decisions will be taken collegial. On the basis of the association, a system will be created for interaction with authorities, a system of legal and legal support of carriers. Truckers also plan to create a common transport and logistics system.

Nobody will go to Moscow with a pitchfork, OPR will act within the framework of the law, Bazhutin emphasized. In particular, the association of carriers will look for legal and legal inconsistencies in the work of the Plato system, he explained.

In December, protesting truckers agreed to create a new independent structure . At a press conference, their representatives said that they would defend the interests of drivers, not only on the problem of Plato. The new association should be an alternative to the interregional trade union of professional drivers. Its leader Alexander Kotov repeatedly called on truckers not to rush with protest actions.

Truckers announced readiness for interaction with other structures, including political parties. At the same time, they emphasized that their protest is not political, but economic. “We do not support any parties. If we put a policy into our ranks, it will be a failure,” said the representative of the truckers.
