This year the competition was supported by a presidential grant. To participate in the event, schoolchildren and teachers from 50 regions of Russia arrived in Moscow. At this time, about 15 people with posters “We do not need an alternative story” gathered at the entrance to the cinema house. They shouted insults against guests, including those of anti -Semitic character.

The organizers are sure that members of the “National Liberation Movement” (NOD), the head of which is the State Duma deputy from United Russia, Evgeny Fedorov, are related to the action. In addition to verbal insults, activists threw eggs at the guests of the ceremony, some were doused with liquid similar to ammonia. The writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya, who this year was headed by the jury of the competition, and Danish journalists were doused with green. As noted in the "Memorial", this happened over two hours "thanks to the amazing passivity of the present police officers."

The Memorial demanded that the Ministry of Internal Affairs conduct an official investigation against police officers who did not take any actions to ensure the safety of schoolchildren and adults, as well as consider the issue of initiating the case against activists who attacked guests and participants in the ceremony. At the moment, only one person was detained, an administrative protocol was drawn up against him under the article “Small Hooliganism” (20.1 Administrative Code).

In addition, the Memorial threatened to sue REN TV for slander. The journalists of the TV channel in their report claim that the organizers of the competition impose an “alternative story” for children and, in particular, propose to consider the idea that “the Nazis carried European values ​​to Russia that the tyrant Stalin did not want to accept.” The “Memorial” report of the TV channel was called malicious slander, recalling that the information about the competition is publicly available, and all the work of the winners are published in the public domain (see the organization’s commentary below).

In the Kremlin, the incident was called "hooliganism" and "outrage." According to the press secretary of President Dmitry Peskov, the participants in the attack by their behavior discredit the St. George ribbon.

The opposition deputy of the State Duma Dmitry Gudkov asked the speaker of the lower house of the parliament to initiate an audit of the leader of the NOD in the commissions on deputy ethics. This disgusting sight was observed by many who came to the award ceremony, including the organizers of similar competitions for schoolchildren from 16 European countries. It is unlikely that what he saw will help improve the image of Russia in these countries.

The additional absurdity of the cinema occurred at the entrance to the house was given to the fact that people who shout off the offensive, including Anti -Semitic slogans decorated themselves with St. George ribbons and stood under the banner imitating the banner of one of the parts of the Red Army.

Already at the very beginning of the plot, the competition was called the “Alternative History of Russia” contest - and it becomes obvious from this that the attackers and the “journalists” by Rentv do not like.

They are frightened that schoolchildren participating in the competition themselves choose topics and heroes. They are frightened that schoolchildren are faced with a real story, participants and witnesses of historical events, themselves analyze the collected information and draw conclusions - and do not memorize the text of a single textbook, about which those who are brought up in a short course of the history of the CPSU (b) dream of.

It is not surprising that the report style resembles the same short course - of course, the main emphasis is that the competition is supported by several German funds and the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation. This is perhaps the only relatively true information in the report, but Rentv does not mention the grant of the President of Russia. This would contradict the created image of the enemy.

A real story does not require such hysterical and demagogic protection that the RentV “journalists” demonstrate. And even more so, it does not require protection with the help of green, used by the Stalinists at the Cinema House.

A real story, to which the participants of the competition are introduced, helps to develop immunity against historical speculation and falsifications.

And the story that the Stalinist propagandists composed, and to which both NOD and RENTV believe will not help any poultices, and even more so.

This contest gave a “ticket” to a great science to an excellent guy from the Ural outback Leshe Rakov, who became a laureate even according to the results of the first competition. Being a schoolboy, he prepared a serious study on the dispossessed and exiled special migrants who created Chelyabinsk enterprises. Now Alexei Alexandrovich Rakov is a candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of the Higher School of Economics.

At this competition, I met a magnificent teacher from the city of Kashin, now leading a local local history society, a teacher of history Tatyana Mikhailovna Golubeva. Together with her and her pupils, we went hundreds of kilometers on historical campaigns to study hostilities against the Polish-Lithuanian invaders at the beginning of the 17th century.

The collection “We are all from one village”, written by schoolchildren living in the village of Novy Kurlak, Anninsky District, became one of the best “memorial” publications on the history of everyday life.

And how to forget a large mother from the town of Likhoslav - the capital of the Tver Karelians, who herself acted as a mentor when writing work, and her children, who became prize -winners of the competition for several years in a row? Or a girl from the Old Believer factory Sym? There is such a settlement on the Yenisei on the map of immense Russia, where only by helicopter can you get. She wrote, perhaps, the only documentary history of the most remote and northern point of the Yenisei district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Today you spat in the soul and these, already matured children. Like hundreds of others who first came to Moscow thanks to this competition, and then entered universities and then friends with each other. You insulted dozens of teachers from the Russian hinterland, including those who became laureates of the All -Russian contest “Teacher of the Year of Russia” (as the mentioned T.M. Golubev, and she is not alone).
