Vladimir Putin signed the Law on the Far Eastern Hectare, which regulates the allocation of land to citizens in the Far East. The document, on April 22, adopted by the State Duma and the 27th approved by the Federation Council, published on the official portal of legal information.

According to the new law, any citizen can get 1 hectare of land for a period of five years in one of the nine regions of the Far Eastern Federal District, which include Yakutia, Kamchatka, Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territory, Amur, Magadan and Sakhalin Regions, Jewish Autonomous Region and Chukotka. Only land in the vicinity of cities is not granted according to this law.

Plots can be allocated for the construction of housing, agricultural or entrepreneurial activity.

After a five -year period, a citizen is given the opportunity to arrange his land for rent from the state or property.

At the same time, the state will seize unused plots from citizens.
