The FSIN began collecting documents for resolving the issue of Extence Savchenko

The Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) of Russia has begun the collection of documents necessary to further resolve the issue of extradition of the Ukrainian military personnel of Nadezhda Savchenko to Ukraine. This was reported by "Interfax" with reference to the press service of the FSIN.

"In connection with the request of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on the appeal of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on the transfer of convicted Savchenko N.V. for further serving the sentence to Ukraine on the basis of the Convention on the transfer of convicted persons dated 03.21.1983 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the necessary materials are currently being carried out, including the application of the convicted Savchenko N.V. On the desire to serve the further sentence in the state of citizenship," - The message says.

The FSIN also noted that the documents will be submitted to the court to make a decision on extradition of Nadezhda Savchenko. However, this will happen only if the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine provides guarantees of the execution of the verdict issued by Savchenko by the Russian court, the FSIN noted. The department emphasized that the verdict regarding the convict must be executed "in full."

Meanwhile, one of Savchenko’s lawyers Nikolai Polozov previously announced the right of Ukraine not to execute the verdict of the Russian court, issued by his client. “In the case of Savchenko’s issuance to their homeland, the Ukrainian authorities have the right to pardon or amnesty it,” he said, bringing the Convention from 1983 as an argument.

Polozov also said that his ward could resume a dry hunger strike, "if there are delay." According to him, the procedure for transferring convicts usually takes from six months to a year, which is "absolutely unacceptable."

On April 27, Sister Nadezhda Savchenko Vera said that the Ukrainian pilot was issued in the pre -trial detention center documents that need to be filled out for her extradition to Ukraine. Savchenko lawyers note that the process of returning to Kyiv can stretch for one to two months and will end, most likely, in late May.

At the end of April, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed "firm hope" that the issue of returning Savchenko will be decided in a few weeks.

Polozov also said that Savchenko agreed to pay a fine of 30 thousand rubles assigned to her by the Russian court for the illegal crossing of the border. According to him, she indicated this when filling out documents for extradition to Ukraine.

Nadezhda Savchenko was convicted in Russia to 22 years in a colony in the case of the murder of VGTRK journalists in the Donbass. The court found that she conducted hidden observation and adjustment of artillery fire during shelling, during which Russian correspondents Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin died. Savchenko herself rejects all the accusations.

The authorities of Ukraine repeatedly demanded the liberation of Savchenko and its issuance to Kyiv. At the same time, on April 18, two Russians Evgeny Erofeev and Alexander Alexandrov were convicted in Ukraine. They were found guilty of the conduct of aggressive war and terrorism and sentenced to 14 years in prison with property confiscation. It is assumed that after the sentence to the Russians will enter into force, they will be exchanged for Savchenko.
