On May 2, in Saratov, the police detained anti-Maidan supporters. In addition to the planned picket, they held an uncoordinated procession.
About 20 members of various political groups gathered at the monument to Yuri Gagarin on Cosmonauts Embankment to take part in a rally dedicated to the memory of those killed in the fire in the Odessa House of Trade Unions. Having stood with posters at the monument for about ten minutes, a group of protesters did not fold the posters and together with them moved on foot across the embankment.
The police officers present at the scene drew attention to the alleged administrative offense and stopped it. Further, the column proceeded without visual agitation, but, having reached the Rotunda, some of the posters were unfolded again. The participants of the event went down to the Volga, after which they launched paper boats along the river.
Then the police asked the organizers to accompany them to the Volzhsky police station, where they took explanations from the anti-Maidanites. Activists of the "Great Fatherland Party" and "Party of Veterans of Russia" took part in the action. The press was invited to the event from the Anti-Maidan movement.
