Inflation in Russia in April amounted to 0.4%

Inflation in Russia in April 2016 was 0.4%; since the beginning of the year, consumer prices have increased by 2.5%, as stated on the Rosstat website . In April 2015, inflation was 0.5%.

Food prices increased by 0.4% compared to March, and by 5.3% in annual terms. “In April, in 5 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, consumer prices for goods and services increased by 0.8% or more, of which in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug - by 1.4% as a result of an increase in prices for services and food products by 1.8% and 1.6%, respectively,” the report notes.

In April, some types of cereals became more expensive: the cost of buckwheat increased by 5.6%, oatmeal increased in price by 2.5%, peas and beans - by 2.1%. At the same time, rice and millet prices fell by 0.5%. Frozen fish became more expensive by 2%, prices for fruit juices rose on average by 2.2%, sparkling water, tea, coffee, ice cream, marshmallows, marshmallows, lamb, ketchup, mayonnaise, margarine and olive oil increased in price by 1.5- 2.1%.

In April, fresh cucumbers fell in price by 22.2%, oranges - by 6.1%, pears - by 3.4%, potatoes - by 0.5%. Cabbage rose in price by 13.8%, tomatoes - by 10.1%, carrots, garlic, grapes, bananas - by 4.0-6.2%.
