There was a failure in the search system in the App Store / A. Astakhova / Vedomosti

The App Store has experienced a global failure in the search system - it is impossible to find applications by keywords. For example, applications from the YouTube video hosting service, Instagram photo service, Candy Crush Saga game, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki social networks and others have "disappeared" from the store, a Vedomosti correspondent found out. While applications can be found by direct links to the pages of these services in the App Store.

The fact that the failure in the App Store search system is global is evidenced by numerous complaints from users of the service on social networks. An Apple representative did not respond to Vedomosti's request. There is no information about the failure on the website or in Apple's official social media accounts.

At the same time, the social network Vkontakte denied the fact that its application had been removed from the App Store. “The Vkontakte application is available in the App Store,” Yevgeny Krasnikov, a representative of the social network, told RNS.

The British publication The Independent writes that Apple is aware of this problem and that the company is working to fix it. According to the publication, it is the app store that is not working, but, for example, selling content through iTunes is working.

In January, Apple informed Russian developers about the revision of the dollar exchange rate, based on which prices are formed in the App Store. As reported by RBC with reference to the corresponding letter, the minimum cost of the application remained the same - 15 rubles.

In January 2015, Apple reduced the cost of applications in the Russian App Store. Then, applications for 99 cents became cheaper from 62 to 59 rubles.
