Circassian activist detained in Maikop

Circassian repatriate from Turkey and public activist Adnan Huade was detained today in Maikop on suspicion of trying to bribe a police officer. On December 17, 2015, Adnan Khuade, his daughter and their assistant were arrested for 15 days after a conflict with FSB officers in Adygea. Previously, he had already been subjected to pressure from law enforcement agencies and announced searches at work and at home. On December 19, 2015, representatives of Circassian public associations in Turkey held a protest rally in front of the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul in connection with the arrest of Huade.
