AvtoVAZ reported sales growth for the first time in two years

In April 2016, 24,648 Lada cars were sold in Russia, AvtoVAZ said in a statement. This is 7.8% more than in April 2015 and 10.7% more than in March 2016.

The best-selling models were Granta, Vesta and XRAY. The company's share in the Russian market, the report says, has reached 20%.

• At the beginning of May, AvtoVAZ reported a loss for the first quarter of 2016 in the amount of 8.6 billion rubles. This is 47 times more than in the first quarter of last year. The increase in losses was explained by a drop in demand in the Russian car market.
