Citizens of Ukraine Yuriy Soloshenko and Gennady Afanasyev, convicted in the Russian Federation, were transferred to Moscow, whose extradition Kyiv had previously requested. This was reported by Interfax with reference to a member of the Public Monitoring Commission of Moscow Zoya Svetova.
According to her, both prisoners are in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center.
“No one knows what they are doing there. The official version is that they arrived there in accordance with Art. 77.1 of the Criminal Executive Code of the Russian Federation, that is, for conducting investigative actions and trials, ”the agency quotes the human rights activist.
She noted that “so far no investigative actions have been carried out with them.” The Ukrainians themselves have no information about why they were brought to Moscow, either, said a member of the PMC. Meanwhile, in her opinion, "there is little doubt that the transfer of two Ukrainian prisoners on the same day are not connected with each other."
