In the Russian Association of Auto -DISTRES, they expect a further deterioration in the situation. "Slowing is the result of a low base of the last year. Demand for cars continues to fall. If in April we sold 121 thousand cars, in the second half of the year the result of 100-110 thousand cars a month will be the best. People continue to fall, the reasons for the growth of cars are not yet," said the head of the association, Vladimir Mozhenkov.

According to the results of the first four months, the fall in sales amounted to more than 14.6 percent.

The market for new cars and light commercial vehicles showed a record fall in 2015. In February, sales fell by 37.9 percent in annual terms. According to the results of the year, the decline was at the level of 35.7 percent. In total, in 2015, 1.6 million new cars were sold in Russia.
