Meet: Peter Soul and his acidic acrylic, Alina with a fish tail and a new level of photographic password in the gallery.
I begin to write a text by drinking a glass of beer. Although I already understand that it was necessary to start with wine. From beer, I get into a dream, I want to look at one point for a long time and dozed right at the desk.

According to the article on the personal exhibition of Peter Soul at Gary Tatinsian Gallery, he is the father of Bad Pancing, “Bad Painting”. No, this does not mean at all that he draws shitty. If you believe the definition, Bad Painting is when the author in his works does not follow the canons of beauty, does not seek to do the work aesthetic, and he wanted to spit on the opinions of others. According to the same article, Soul is the father of pop art and the heir to surrealism. But in the book “Incomprehensible Art”, Will Gompertz, who talks in detail about each course of art since 1820 (about the fathers-for sure), in the chapters of Surrealism and Pop Art there are not a single mention of Soul. Peter Soul does not even have an article on Wikipedia, and this is very suspicious. But there are paintings - I saw them with my own eyes.
In the hall with the works of Soul, consciousness floods the poisonous acrylic. At first you are staring at Andy Warhol's naked female breast, then on a cake with a member, then on a lilac Stalin, crushing the fascist's face. When you decide to take a photo for Instagram and exclaim: “Oh! New vision! I will raise my hand, as if I were holding the Kremlin with my fingers! ”, You understand that this is a vision of the ciliates-tufelka. Fantasy is a universal and unisexual thing. And only people themselves limit it. However, I do not write philosophical treatises, so we will return to the exhibition.
"Butenka" wrote to your humble slave a photographer. I was not familiar with the photographer, so I decided just in case to come early, but instead I was late for two hours. The photographer was called Katya. When I ran into the hall of Gari Tatintsian Gallery, she was faintly rejoiced and said that it was impossible. "You can't!" -I read the recurrence of phrases at some forum of psychologists. Katya and the mustache did not take.
The gallery was empty. Only a security guard and a couple of rotozeevs from the logistics department. Katya hoped to do with little blood, photograph the work and settled down. And at first I was surprised when I began to wrap myself with a red ribbon from a sex shop, but got involved very quickly and even began to advise how to tighten the knots. Nevertheless, the tapes were still not enough (it was not at all for me for these purposes), the planned tail of the mermaid turned out to be unfinished. I decided to lie down at the bottom near the painting “Bad Restaurant”, because another strange element would not have violated the balance of this psychedelic panel at all. But I also fell into the subject to the next work of Birth of Venus. This refers, of course, Venus Milo, and not a razor machine. Venus in Roman mythology is the name of the goddess of beauty, carnal love, desire, fertility and prosperity, if anyone does not know.

Peter Soul sees her like a bunch of breasts, arms and legs, floundering in a red mass. The only aesthetic bonus of the goddess is that all this slurry is located in a gold shell. Soul himself says: "Work should cause anxiety or laughter." And his work corresponds to this vision. True, they caused me mainly anxiety. Yes, and Katya, too, judging by the fact that she shied away from side to side with horror in her eyes.
The work of “Wall Street Suicide”, which depicts McLler who kills himself, I have already seen the HTSIA Mastifiers at the Group exhibition. Then the work was not particularly impressed by me, because in the neighborhood there was a tip from the phalloimitator Paul McCarthy (painted his paintings by a member), the severed parts of the body of Joel Peter Witkin and other demolition. But here the image of the collapse of Wall Street in October 1929, which became the beginning of the great depression, was one of the most cruel and straightforward. In the light of the eternal desire of people for material “happiness”, this picture may also be the personification of the erroneousness of their choice. I had neither money or, especially, weapons, but there was a flag of Mexico. And since everything is always urinated there, this combination seemed logical to us.

Honestly, preparing for this exhibition, I especially did not think about the props, but simply took the most unusual things that were at my place. And she did the right thing! In the course of the play, a local photographer arose in the hall. At first he looked down on us, arrogance was read on his face: well, they went away, shmakodyavka. But then he became interested and forgot about everything in the world. He began to advise us where and what is better to portray, and said that he also has something to see at home. We expressed his sincere congratulations to him and relocated to the third hall.
Sometimes Peter Soul is called an expressionist, but it is debatable. Expressionism strives for the expression not so much reality as the author’s emotional state. It is difficult to imagine a striking example of expressionism by Edward Munk, and how they can express the emotional state of bare breasts or Stalin with a lilac face. Although, of course, you can. But the work of Peter Soul is an obvious irony over reality.
Soul depicted the fall of Constantinople very peculiarly. Although no, he just portrayed him normally. Unlike me. Historical certificate: the fall of Constantinople is the capture of the capital of the Byzantine Empire of Constantinople by the Sosmans Turks, led by Sultan Mehmed II in 1453. Katya and I instantly scratched that I could portray a Turk by building a chalm from a scarf. But why did we decide to put a leash on my neck - it cannot be explained. After all, then I would have to portray a Roman. However, taking into account Sumbur on the canvas, I do not think that at least someone will be surprised at this.

And here is the three -headed Andy Warhol flies out on the wings of sea abyss. He has five female breasts. Fantasy is called Birth of Pop. Maybe that's why Peter Soul is called the father of pop art? Warhol personifies pop art (although, so that you know, he was not his father), and the female breast represents the mother. Well, Soul, according to the logic of things, is the father.

At that moment, I noticed that the girl was watching us, her face expressed distrust. “No, he is not an Englishman,” thought Berlioz, and the homeless thought: “Where did he get so good to speak in Russian, that’s interesting!” “And again frowned.” She approached us and, introducing herself as an employee of the gallery, began to ask who we are and where will we come from. We enthusiastically began to talk about the "friend", but it turned out that the girl had never heard of such a publication. “Probably, here it is, our great goal: to tell about my friend,” I thought. We exchanged contacts, and I asked her to call me for all the discoveries. Her gaze fell on the Mexican flag. At that moment, Katya took out huge scissors from her pocket (which she put there during the preparation of the installation of the Mermaid) and handed them to me. I automatically grabbed the scissors, but this did not insulate the unusualness of the gesture. The girl hastily left our unbalanced society.
If sometimes, when looking at the artist’s work, it seems that he drew it from the strength of half an hour (such as the “autumn rhythm” of Jackson Pollock or “composition with red, yellow and blue” Pete Mondrian), then in the case of Peter Soul, even the deaf in art, it will be clear that every picture is long work. Peter Soul uses acrylic paint and canvas. In three to five weeks of work on one canvas, the second mixes up to three hundred shades and applies them to four to twelve layers. He holds each shade in a small plastic cup. When the canvas is ready, the artist keeps it for a couple of weeks in order to finish or repaint if necessary. When asked what so much effort, Soul replies that he strives for the enviable role of an independent artist - and so far he is lucky in this.

What is Peter Soul about? Firstly, about the perception of life. He is eighty -two years old. He draws paintings, operates with the concept of inspiration and says that he does not want to grow up. Thus, he breaks one of the most common stereotypes. Secondly-about surrealism. That is, about pop art. That is, about expressionism ... In short, if someone from Wikipedia reads this text, make an article about St. Petersburg Soul!
