
Today, May 13, in the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" in Moscow, the XVIII International Festival "Intermuseum" was opened. At the festival, which takes place under the motto “Museum without borders”, about 300 museums from Russia and other countries, including for the first time - from China and Iran, represent their stands.
The Intermuseum program has more than 150 events for professionals, TASS reports.
The main goal of the festival of this year is to draw attention to the museum as an important tool in the space of intercultural dialogue, its social mission.
Among the participants are the director of the State Tretyakov Gallery Zelfir Tregulov, director of the State Museum of isolation arts named after A.S. Pushkin Marina Loshak, General Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve Elizaveta Fokina, director of Kunstkamers Yuri Chistov, director of the State Center for Contemporary Art Mikhail Mindlin.
Also in the festival, employees of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation participate. Within the framework of the Open Ministry program, they will talk about legislative practice, the development of the Goskatalog of the Museum Fund and the insurance of cultural values.
Intermuseum 2016 will last until May 16, the entrance to the festival is free.
On the last day of the “Intermuseum” work, the jury, chaired by the director of the Moscow Kremlin museums, Elena Gagarina, will summarize the results of the competition, whose final 17 museums reached.
