Ossetian, Badanin, Solus, dozens of editors and journalists of RBC in the last two years have committed a real miracle. They did what is impossible to do is unrealistic - it does not happen. In the past two years, independent journalism has been dying in Russia; And RBC over these two years has become the main independent publication of Russia - with first -class investigations, with an impeccable reputation, with a multimillion -dollar audience. Without any reservations, without any discounts on difficult times.
Friday, May 13 is a truly bad day for all of us, for journalists and readers. This is the day when a miracle was destroyed before our eyes. There is not a single reason that could justify this. Behind this decision, there are no balanced thoughts of the owner, as there are no “state interests”. There is only resentment and revenge - they looked wrong, behaved wrong, they wrote wrong. You were told not to climb, but you climb. What happened to RBC is not a fight against an ideological enemy. No, this is a showdown in the gateway. True, all Russian journalism became gateway.
Was the game a candle? Of course, it was worth it. People who have been destroyed by RBC today are generally unknown why, for which RBC in its current form existed. It is true, in addition to jokes, it is impossible to understand the logic of these strange people suggesting at trouble. Although the logic is not very confusing: you see, there are professionals in the world, there are people who love their work and know how to do it.
There is also someone who once again says that this is not the leadership of the country - this is the society itself, calling for censorship, refuses journalists; But where do we go to the multimillion -dollar audience of RBC? There is also someone who once again declares that it is necessary to bargain with a person in uniform for the sake of maintaining a position and team; But do you really think that the employees of the editorial office of RBC would agree with this?
Thank you, dear Lisa, Roman, Maxim and all other employees of RBC, for professional work, for confidence that we are doing the right thing, for reluctance to make a deal with our own conscience. The best times will never come, but we will not be redone-so, perhaps, we will somehow continue.
