RBC management decided to fire after an article about oysters near “Putin’s palace”

The Kremlin turned to the owners of RBC with a demand to fire the management of the holding after the article “ They will start breeding oysters in front of Putin’s palace near Gelendzhik ” was published. This was reported by Reuters citing a source. According to the agency's interlocutor, this was the last straw for the country's leadership. The Kremlin officially denies the fact of pressure on the holding.

Previously, Meduza's sources explained that searches in the ONEXIM group (which owns RBC) were personally authorized by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He didn’t like the publications in RBC about his family. RBC talked about the president’s daughter Katerina Tikhonova and her husband (Putin’s son-in-law) Kirill Shamalov .

• On May 13, it became known that the editor-in-chief of the RBC newspaper Maxim Solyus had been fired. Following him, the chief editor of the RBC holding, Roman Badanin, and the chief editor of RBC, Elizaveta Osetinskaya, left at their own request.
• Elizaveta Osetinskaya came to RBC at the end of 2013, Roman Badanin and Maxim Solyus have worked for the holding since the beginning of 2014. Before moving to RBC, Badanin worked as deputy editor-in-chief of the Gazety.ru website and chief editor of the Forbes.ru website. Osetinskaya led the Russian version of Forbes magazine and was the editor-in-chief of the Vedomosti.ru website. Maxim Solyus worked as deputy editor-in-chief of the Vedomosti newspaper.
