
The foreign exchange mortgages held a protest of the Ministry of Finance against the department’s reluctance to support their request to recalculate loans taken. This was reported by RBC with reference to the All -Russian movement of foreign currency borrowers.
On Monday morning, protesters brought naked mannequins with bags on their heads and ropes on the necks to the department. The inscriptions “The Ministry of Finance kills”, “Mortgage in currency”, “$ 0 $” were attached to the mannequins.
Also, the mortgages signed and handed over to officials a collective protest against the position of the department, stating that a preferential restructuring of loans would violate the laws and infringe on the rights of other categories of citizens. In their statement, they demanded a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov to find out how the moratorium on the removal of the housing can violate the laws if the constitutional rights of citizens violates precisely eviction from only housing.
The protests of the mortgages caused the statement of the department prepared following the meeting of officials with foreign currency borrowers, which took place on May 10. It declared the impossibility of supporting measures such as “establishing non -market conversion courses of foreign currency into rubles”, forced debt write -off and moratorium on its return. Instead, borrowers were invited to use the bankruptcy procedure. Meanwhile, such a solution means losing housing.
The mortgages achieve the recalculation of loans issued to them at the Central Bank rate on October 1, 2014 - 39.39 rubles per dollar and 49.98 rubles per euro. Meanwhile, the Central Bank only recommended credit institutions to make such a recalculation, but did not oblige to do it.
Nevertheless, in the summer of 2015, the Ministry of Finance agreed in this way to restructure the mortgage in a number of Russian regions, and at the end of last year a similar law was adopted regarding the annexed Crimea.
