Ukraine introduced a quota into Western television programs

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for a 70 percent quota on the broadcast of programs made in Europe, the USA and Canada.

The bill on the introduction of quotas was supported by 229 deputies at 226 necessary, TASS reports.

“The program of European production is the transfer created by one or more legal entities-residents of the countries that ratified the European Convention on cross-border broadcasting,” the text of the law says.

If the transfer is created by order or with the participation of one or more legal entities of the country, which is recognized by the radiation state-aggressor, it cannot be considered a product of European or Ukrainian production.

According to the new law, the transfer of European production, as well as the production of the United States and Canada, should be at least 70% of the total weekly broadcasting, including at least 50% - transmission of Ukrainian production.
