Sevilla won the Europa League for the third time in a row

Spain's Sevilla beat Liverpool 1-3 in the UEFA Europa League final to win the tournament for the third time in a row. The match took place on the evening of May 18 at the St. Jakob-Park stadium in Basel, Switzerland.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring in the 35th minute. At the beginning of the second half, Kevin Gameiro equalized the score, and in the 64th and 70th minutes, Spaniards defender Koke Moreno scored two more goals.

• Sevilla won the Europa League in 2006, 2007, 2014 and 2015 (until 2009 - the UEFA Cup). Liverpool have won the tournament three times - in 1973, 1976 and 2001.
