Propaganda tension

The “Channel One” in Kazakhstan was sued for propaganda - even a professional community opposed colleagues. Everything happens against the background of strengthening protest activity in the country and searches in the opposition.

On May 13, on the news of the “Channel One of Kazakhstan” - the franchise of the Russian media holding - a video appeared that immediately made a lot of noise not only in Kazakhstan. Leading in the studio - the iMir Shaukentaeva, Ruslan Smykov and Alai Keteugenov - said they have video evidence of “paying” protest rallies on the issue of transferring land to private property to foreigners who go in Kazakhstan for about a month. Earlier, these same presenters argued that some “organizers” pay for all the country's protests from 50 to 150 dollars. The indignant public then demanded evidence, and now the “Channel One of Kazakhstan” has found these “evidence”.

“Here's a video confirmation! In the interests of the Motherland, we are showing him now! " -adding to the voice of Paphos, she said to the shakentaeva camera, and an image of someone's legs in jeans appears in the frame. Money (dollars, of course) is pulled out of the pocket of these jeans, 150 “green” is counted - after which the camera returns to the studio. The image is twitching - the effect of a hidden camera is created. At the same time, the fact that the video was shot from at least two plans was immediately attracted. But this does not bother the hosts.

“Did you see everyone? If you have seen, be sure to spread among the residents of your ZhEK! ” - Pathetically raising his hand, says Ruslan Skykov - the host and editor of the information broadcasting of the channel. After this, the video is repeated three times and in the breaks between the next show is accompanied by phrases like: “And so they sell us with you. And note: not even for Kazakhstan tenge, not in national currency, but for dollars. It is clear who is the customer? ” Obviously, the West and the Fifth Column are mean. At this moment, the rest of the presenters nod.

The video about the “paid” rallies made the effect of the exploding bomb - but exploding in the hands of the leaders themselves. The very next morning, the social networks of the country were full of mocking pictures and video collages based on this revelation. In the profile group "Kazakhstani Journalists" on Facebook, the country's professional community responded with outraged hum of votes, and information about the plot - with poorly hidden malice - gave the majority of the media, including loyal to the state. The Channel One of Kazakhstan was immediately accused of propaganda, called for the boycott of all advertisers of the channel, and even mentioned that the surname of the Channel General Director is Kiselev (although not Dmitry).

Further, a lawyer from the Karaganda region Nurkhan Zhumabekov went, who on May 16 filed a lawsuit against the channel. “Shakentaeva defeated my self -esteem of the social significance of these events. My sense of empathy with the people, my sense of consent with the requirements that were presented at rallies were offended by Shaukentaeva. According to Shaukentaeva, I become a potential victim of the fifth column, internal enemies, if I wish to speak at a rally in defense of the land of my ancestors and my descendants, ”the Electronic Exclusive Electronic magazine quotes the lawyer. The lawsuit was adopted by the court, but the decision on whether it will be considered or will be rejected is not yet issued.

Lawyers and journalists watching the situation admit that such a lawsuit has a little chance, but they note that it is, in fact, about the precedent when society rebelled against propaganda. True, you should not seduct - talk that the entire opposition in Kazakhstan was sold with giblets and has long wanted to arrange the Maidan, almost every day goes on the air of most large channels. In this case, only how clumsy propaganda was made - the stupid shower of the legs and the back pocket of the jeans, perhaps, was probably nothing.

By the way, “Channel One of Kazakhstan” (also known as “Channel One Eurasia”) did not depart from its words. Moreover, already on Monday, in her news column “In general”, Imir Shaukentaeva, telling about the work of Kazakhstani police officers, led as an example of the United States, where the police “Vinci” everyone, “when someone is trying to sow the turmoil, resorts to frank lies and games with the feelings of the patriots” (all this was accompanied by the frames with the dispersal of the mass relic-though it is not entirely clear in which country). There are no other comments from the channel at all. It is worth noting that the 20% of the channel share belongs to the Russian “first”. The remaining 80% - the property of the Kazakhstan national television and radio corporation.

The social situation in Kazakhstan, meanwhile, continues to deteriorate. From April 24, shares of protest against amendments to the Land Code periodically flash in the country, according to which land can be leased to foreign citizens for up to 25 years (before - up to 10 years). Protesters in every city - from several dozen to presumably several thousand in the West Atyrau - said that the land will be given to the Chinese, and this is a threat to the country's independence. Under the pressure of the public, President Nursultan Nazarbayev announced a moratorium on amendments until 2017 and created a land commission to clarify new amendments. Two ministers flew from their posts - the national economy and agriculture. There was no question of cancellation of amendments.

This did not convince most of the protesters, and they announced the desire to reach a national protest rally on May 21 (almost all applications were rejected by local city halls - akimats). After that, the authorities not only included propaganda weapons (under these - including the goal they even created a whole Ministry of Information and Communications), but also began point pressure on activists. On Monday at night, searches were searched by activists in Uralsk - they allegedly extended calls to go to a rally through WhatsApp - as well as from the former presidential candidate Walikhan Kaisarov in his house in Astana - they were looking for an unregistered weapon. Signals are received about the calls of activists to the prosecutor's office and the National Security Committee in other regions of Kazakhstan.

On the night of May 17 to 18, at least 7 activists in different regions of the country were arrested for 15 days under Art. 488 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan for violation of the rules for organizing a rally. A rally that has not yet taken place. The courts over the activists took place after midnight, the activists did not give lawyers, and some of them were generally detained and led away from the house barefoot. Some have already noted similarity to one not such a distant historical era. Night searches, courts, drives - a recognizable picture. The summons from the prosecutor's office came to famous journalists, but they are not yet delayed.
