“CPE employees told me that it was already a crime that I had downloaded it [the leaflet — OVD-Info], and that it was better for me to confess in order to pass as a witness. They said that if I did not write a statement, they could put me in a “monkey house” and keep me there. They said that I would be held as a witness, ”Tsvetkova said during the meeting.
She is charged under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for inciting hatred and enmity on the basis of belonging to the social group “police officers”. The defendant, according to the investigation, downloaded a leaflet criticizing law enforcement agencies from the VKontakte social network, printed 50 copies and on November 10, 2014 (on the eve of Police Day) pasted it at bus stops and lampposts, photographed the pasted leaflet, and posted the photo on her page in social network.
Elizaveta Tsvetkova was included in the federal list of terrorists and extremists and her bank card was blocked. The last word is scheduled for May 27, 15:00.
