The Chairman of the Association of Carriers of Russia was detained in Moscow

On May 18, police officers detained a St. Petersburg trucker, chairman of the Association of Carriers of Russia, Andrey Bazhutin. This was reported to OVD-Info by the trucker himself. It is worth noting that Bazhutin was one of the leaders of the camp of drivers in Khimki protesting against the Platon system.

According to Bazhutin, the police motivated the detention by the need to check his passport details, as well as involvement in certain crimes. Police officers came to Bazhutin directly to the hotel room where he temporarily lives, from where they took him to the first police department of the city of Khimki. In the department, the trucker's passport was checked, fingerprints were taken and photographed. As Bazhutin noted, he was also asked questions about the protest camp in Khimki, actions against Platon and the Association of Carriers of Russia, and was also warned about the "inadmissibility of extremist activities."

At the moment, Andrei Bazhutin is at large, the police did not draw up protocols against him, limiting themselves to an act of questioning.
