A case has been opened against the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yakutia for attempting to rape a subordinate

Investigators opened a criminal case against the former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, head of the investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Yakutia Nikolai Mamchur, accused of attempted rape and committing violent acts of a sexual nature. This was reported by the regional IC department

According to the investigation, on the night of April 17 of this year, a drunken Mamchur, while in the building of the investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, called a subordinate into the office, where he tried to rape her and, against her will, committed violent acts of a sexual nature. When an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs complained about Mamchur’s actions, the deputy minister wrote a letter of resignation and attempted suicide on the night of April 20. He was taken to the hospital with a neck wound; doctors assessed his condition as stable and serious. A week and a half after hospitalization, Mamchur tried to escape from the hospital.

A case has been opened against Nikolai Mamchur for attempted rape (Part 1 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code) and violent acts of a sexual nature (Part 1 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code). The punishment includes imprisonment from three to six years in a strict regime colony.
