A Spanish court has revoked the arrest warrant for State Duma deputy Vladislav Reznik

A court in Spain upheld the appeal of representatives of State Duma deputy Vladislav Reznik and overturned the earlier decision to issue a warrant for his arrest, reports the Associated Press.

The court justified its decision by the fact that Reznik gave testimony via video link, his whereabouts are known to the court, and he has official representatives in Spain.

The issuance of an arrest warrant for United Russia deputy Reznik was associated with suspicions of participation in a criminal community and money laundering.

Simultaneously with the warrant for Reznik, the national judicial panel of Spain issued an international arrest warrant for several Russians accused of connections with the mafia. The warrant was issued by Judge Jose de la Mata, who is investigating the activities of the Tambov and Malyshevskaya organized crime groups; according to him, there are “very serious facts” against each of those put on the wanted list.

The warrant was issued in connection with the case of the Tambov organized crime group, which was allegedly led by Gennady Petrov, and the Malyshevskaya organized crime group led by Alexander Malyshev. In 2008, they and about 20 other people were arrested in Spain, but now it turned out that the mafia network was connected with representatives of the Russian government.

The arrest order, which was written by a judge of the National Judicial Collegium, states that Reznik “carries out all those necessary actions, legal or illegal (influence trading, privileged information, etc.) at the highest level in Russia in favor of Petrov and his subordinate organization "

In addition to Reznik, the document includes Nikolai Aulov, who since 2006 served as head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Central Federal District, and since 2008 - deputy head of the Federal Drug Control Service. The document says that leaders of mafia schemes used Aulov to “act in the highest administrative bodies of Russia.” It is noted that “Aulov uses his power and has trusted people to commit acts of intimidation or threats to certain individuals who are trying to harm Petrov.” In addition, an arrest warrant has been issued for Leonid Khristoforov, who allegedly “acted as a link” with Aulov.

Another alleged participant in the mafia scheme, Igor Sobolevsky, was “the first deputy minister in the main department responsible for the investigation of crimes of special gravity” and reported to Petrov “about the actions that the security forces were carrying out against organized crime.”

There was no information that the court was reviewing its decision regarding the remaining Russians.
