“In February 2016, together with Kazakh colleagues, we suppressed the activities of a criminal group, whose members were planning to carry out terrorist attacks based on the Paris scenario in major Russian cities,” Bortnikov said.

In addition, the director of the department reported that in March 2016, the channel of illegal migration of people from Afghanistan to Finland in transit through Kazakhstan and Russia was eliminated. According to him, a Russian citizen put on the international wanted list, who also participated in the fighting in Syria and planned to hide in one of the European countries, was also identified and detained.
