Residents of the high-mountainous Chechen village of Kenkhi appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with an apology for the statements of their fellow countryman Ramazan Dzhalaldinov, who criticized the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.
“At the meeting of the residents of our village, an appeal was signed to President Vladimir Putin. It was signed by almost the entire adult population of Kenkhi,” Magomed Gadzhiev, the head of the village of Kenkhi in the Sharoi district of the Chechen Republic, told Interfax on Friday.
According to him, the villagers are asking the president not to consider Dzhalaldinov's statements as an expression of the opinion of all Kenkhinians.
After Dzhalaldinov published a video message to Putin complaining about Kadyrov, his house was burned down and his family was taken out of Chechnya.
